Voice Messages are reportedly being tested by WhatsApp for Android. A Meta AI feature

It is said that users will be able to speak with the Meta AI assistant on WhatsApp in one-way voice conversations with this functionality.

According to reports, WhatsApp for Android is testing a new function for Meta AI, the AI chatbot it recently added. This feature will let users message the chatbot with voice messages, according to a feature tracker. It's said that Meta AI can reply to communications as well, although in text form. A select number of beta testers are apparently going to be able to utilize the feature once it rolls out. In the upcoming weeks, WhatsApp might make it available to more users.

WhatsApp Is Supposedly Testing the Ability to Send Voice Memos with AI

The WhatsApp voice messaging functionality for Meta AI was observed in the 2.24.16.10 Android beta, according to a post by WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo. After it launches, users who signed up for the Google Play Beta program will be able to access the chat interface and notice a new voice message icon by tapping on the Meta AI button.

This icon, which is next to the text box at the bottom, resembles the one seen on other chat rooms and groups. Users will be able to communicate with Meta AI via voice messages, according to the feature tracker. The audio can be processed by the AI, and it can comprehend the question. After that, a text answer will be generated. Employees of Gadgets 360 were unable to confirm that the Android beta app was available on WhatsApp.

When a user is unable to enter a lengthy inquiry but still needs the information, the feature may be helpful. Users who are constantly on the run may find the predicted functionality very useful. It's interesting to note that although Meta AI has always been multimodal and capable of producing images, audio processing or generation has not been included. This upgrade may finally make a change.

Additionally, it has been reported that WhatsApp for Android is testing the ability to double-tap messages to respond to them instantly. According to reports, the feature adds a heart emoji by default once a user double-taps a message. Notably, this feature is already supported by Facebook and Instagram. This feature is currently in beta testing; no release window for the general public has been specified.
